What's New...
112 new acres protected!
2011 proved to be as busy as ever for the Land Trust. We added 88 acres of land protected by Conservation Restrictions (CRs) and 24 acres of land to the Land Trust’s own holdings.
We are very grateful to the Edwards Family, to Bill and Molly Sherden, and to Lucy Keefe for donating Conservation Restrictions on their land. These three generous CR gifts were in addition to the Conservation Restriction placed on the 29-acre Oscar Palmer Farm.
Special thanks to the Carol Tashjian and to Randy and Karen Kirby for donating land in fee to the Land Trust. We are looking forward to exploring and conserving both pieces.
Completing the protection of the Oscar Palmer Farm on Adamsville Road was one among many of our 2011 milestones. The land was returned to private ownership at the end of May, simultaneously placing a Conservation Restriction on the land and an historic preservation restriction on all of the buildings. Building restoration is underway, and is in full view from the road as you drive past the property!
